Efektivitas Pembelajaran Menggunakan Simulasi PhET Terhadap Peningkatan Keterampilan Proses Sains (KPS) pada Materi Hukum Newton

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using Science Process Skills (SPS)-based questions in improving the conceptual understanding of Newton's Laws in high school students. The study used a quasi-experimental method with a Pretest Post-test control group design involving two eleventh grade classes, namely the experimental class using SPS questions and the control class using conventional questions. The research instrument consisted of 30 multiple-choice questions based on the context of Newton's Laws. Data were analyzed using N-Gain to see the improvement in conceptual understanding. The results showed that the experimental class obtained an average N-Gain of 43% with a less effective category, while the control class obtained an average N-Gain of 59% with a fairly effective category. These findings indicate that in this research condition, the use of SPS-based questions has not provided a higher increase in conceptual understanding compared to conventional questions. Factors such as students' more diverse initial abilities, the complexity of SPS questions, and higher demands for data analysis are suspected to influence the achievement of learning outcomes.
